5 Extra Easy Halloween Costumes for Extra Tired Moms

I'm a bad mommy. I just can't get excited about Halloween costumes this year. My excuses are as follows:
  • My kids just don't get that excited about Halloween yet
  • They refuse to wear an itchy or scratchy costume (or even one that looks like it could be itchy)
  • It will be cold out
  • They'll look cute in anything
Oh, who am I kidding... I've been phoning it in from the beginning!
That being said, I've been searching for some costumes that are more assembly than actual sewing. Here are 5 ideas that shouldn't take more than an afternoon and a few dollars:

from Real Simple

Some of these costumes are a few years old-- but I just love the simplicity of them. You can tell I love those sweatshirt costumes! (We used them last year too.)

I feel my motivation rising just by writing this post! How are you feeling about Halloween this year?

    2. Aw, thanks. That is how I feel. Even tonight my husband was talking about all I want to do and said, "you know, there just are not enough hours in the day!" Tonight he is working on this first post for our blog. I hope to make it live early next week. I'm trying to get our son to wear parts of this year's costume so he will be still enough for picture. If I can get him to cooperate, I post about it before Halloween (fingers crossed!) I'm keeping the idea all hush hush, though. -Jessica

P.S., I've linked back to you. Your blog is gorgeous.

    3. Not enough hours-- Thank you! Blogging is a ton of work especially alongside parenthood! I wish I had a few more hours in the day too! I'll be crossing my fingers that your son cooperates for a picture too-- I want to see the costume!!!
