I admit, I was completely stumped for weeks! I ended up choosing a favorite that both my son and I share-- So Many Ways by Mr Rodgers. Like many of you, I've been a huge, huge fan of Mr. Rodgers from way back. I loved this song, and was so thrilled when one of my son's favorite programs decided to do a 'remix.'
You can see the original version here...
The remixed version features a heart that is shared between the father and son, so I decided to make something that my son and I could share together. I came up with a "reading pillow."
We do nightly bedtime stories, and I've often wished for a big pillow that we can lean up against so we can both see the book easily. This pillow fits the bill!
It also has a handy pocket to store the book we are working on.
I appliqued a big heart on the front, just like the one in the song. Because, you know, making something is one way to say, "I love you."
Since the pillow cover won't be washed much (I hope!) I just did a simple straight stitch to attach the heart.
started sewing them without a plan, and they worked just perfectly for this pillow. I just have to show off the one and only corner where all 6 of my triangle points came together perfectly.
Thank you so much for having me over at Sew In Tune! I'll see y'all back here on Friday with an awesome giveaway.
