Sewn Newborn Hats + Giveaway!

When I was asked to be part of the the Lullabye Line pattern  tour I knew exactly what I wanted to do-- sewn baby hats! They are so cute, so small and so adorable. You all know I have a thing for making baby hats. They are my absolute favorite thing to knit or crochet! Because I love making them that way, I hadn't really tried my hand at making sewn hats before.  {Scroll down for the giveaway and an easy sewing pattern storage tip!}

There are 3 hat options included-- I made this plain one....

 And I couldn't help making this knot version (even easier!) I love funny hats on babies-- after a 12 hour labor, you deserve to have a few laughs at their expense!

The hats are simple and easy to make, and even faster than crocheting! A quick tip-- if a pattern only has a few curved pieces, just write the dimensions of the straight pieces on the pattern piece itself. So, for this hat pattern, I just wrote the band width and height on the back of the pattern piece. Now I only need this small piece of paper the next time I need a quick baby gift.

The Lullabye Line Bundle  from Peekaboo Patterns is basically an 'everything you need to sew for baby' pattern pack. The pack includes onsies, hats, mittens, pants shorts and a sleep sack! (The patterns are also available separately)

If you sew for showers, or are expecting a child, grandchild or niece or nephew, this would be a great set of patterns to sew up in a few different sizes. I love Amy's patterns because they are straightforward and easy to learn from and follow. This would be a great set to get if you are just starting to sew for baby.
