The Sally Dress

Ooooh... I finally get to show you the Sally Dresses I made for my daughter! Yes-- I was lucky enough to be a tester for Luvinthemommyhood's new pattern.

These dresses were an all around success-- I've never gotten so many compliments on something I've made. Everyone loved everything about it, the fit, the square neckline, and the pockets.
Even Amaani loves them!
It's the pockets... they are huge! She can fit her 2 favorite teddybears in them.
The pink dress was meant to be a muslin, but that didn't stop me from adding contrast band pockets and a triple stitched hem. I know they aren't for everyone, but I just love a wide hem.

The pattern is closure free, and the square neckline keeps it easy to take on and off. If you want to add a zipper or button closure, the pattern would be easy to modify. It's a great beginner pattern-- my mom has decided that she's going to make it for her first dress sewing project.

I'm definitely going to make more! (one with my mom, one in knit, maybe with one ruffle sleeves, a shorter one to turn into a top... the possibilities are endless!)  Any one interested in a sew along?  Maybe over a week or two? Let me know in the comments and I'll try and get it set up!
