Trick or Treat!

We had a wonderful Halloween this week! Both kids went as monkeys; and the costumes were just made with whatever I could scrounge around in the house. Amaani's outfit was an old fleece outfit of Ishu's; and Ishu's sweatshirt was purchased earlier this season. Slap on some felt underbellies and ears and they look cute as pie.

This is the first year that we were able to walk around the neighborhood and actually ring bells. This picture is of Ishu walking back from the first house. He didn't actually figure out what was going on.

Amaani was just anoyed that she didn't get any candy. Um... maybe next year.

Niki Masi took a detour on the way home from work to go to a few houses with us.

Ishu was really getting the hang of it by the end of the night. He was able to explain to me that you were supposed to ring the bell, wait and then hold your bag open. I'm not sure he said Trick or Treat, but he certainly nailed the asking for candy part. Since he had become such an expert, we let him do the last house himself.
He did really well until we realized he couldn't reach the bell! He walked around confused for a bit, until we figured it out.

Well... that's what mom's are for. Problem solved :)

We had such a wonderful time; and I'm already dreaming up costumes and decorations for next year.

  3. Thank you! Next year I'll bet they will both be walking and trick or treating.

I am happy with how the costumes worked out (but next year I'll put in some more effort!) Both kids didn't complain about wearing their costumes at all this year!
